My new Hair: My Visit to Desmond & Molly Jones. Hair Salon in Surry Hills
I was so very lucky to be able to visit Leonard's Desmond & Molly Jones Salon in Surry Hills this week. There I met the fun loving Leonard and very sweet Craig. Both took the time to consult me and my plain hair to achieve this: A deeper blunt fringe with a curved shape, a hair colour consisting of violet and chestnut and a straighter perimeter.
A dream salon where the coolest music is played, Leonard surprised me some quirky tea while I soaked in the salon's details. On the first floor, a fireplace feature complete with cosy arm chair sat in the corner with portraits of ducks really set the atmosphere. To get your hair cut, you sat in front of about a dozen mirrors set in vintage and antique frames.
The Basement is an extension of the salon - with magazines stacked in massive cupboards and also are used to hold up a giant feature mirror.
Then towards the back, you see a framed Beatles' record 'Ob la di Ob la da' and you instantly recognise where the salon's name came from (well I knew since I've been listening to that song since I was 7). And another cool factor was, that Leonard is the creative director of EVO Hair products, a line I've been using for some time now (my favourite being the CALM collection). They stock it everywhere in the salon and use it on their clients, which is a good idea indeed.
I walked out of the Desmond & Molly Jones feeling polished and that I had made some new friends; as Leonard and Craig were so welcoming and looked after me in such a friendly way. I realised this was the sort of experience I've been missing out on in other salons. Thank you Leonard and Craig for making my day lovely <3
