Hi all! You guys have certainly brightened up my day. Its funny that I'm not the only one that buys things because of music stars, I'm not alone! Your comments are so sweet, and I love you all.

I've been quite sad lately and have been depressed at work. I've been working as an assistant buyer for a fashion company for nearly 2 years now, but unfortunately the company is not for me. And I will resign this week. I think a break is needed for me, and I would like to find out what it is I would want to do in life.

It's most likely I'll stay in the fashion industry, since I absolutely love clothes and styling and design. I just hope an opportunity comes up soon, but in a new company that I'll love.

What industries do you guys work in? I would love to know!

Today I'm wearing a triple layer Peterpan collared shirt by Topshop, and some lovely denim shorts by Forever 21. I'm loving the collar on this, its so quirky and makes an outfit unique. I've also layered green on green clothing, in a montone fashion, and paired it up with a contrasting orange lip colour. It's been raining in Sydney so I took some photos against a green wall :)

    Great outfit...I love the colour of the top and the peter pan collars. I work as a freelance editor as a day job and write in my spare time but I'm now going back to university to retrain and change directions...now is the time to do it so you're very brave. Wishing you the best of luck :)

    Aww...well a nice break is what we need in just about anything we do. And yes, please stick to fashion because you are so wonderful at it.

    I don't work right now since I'm still in school, but right after I graduate, I do hope that I will raid some elementary or high school and create music programs that will thrive. :)

    awesome layered collars! I love this entire outfit, from the cardigan to the shorts! Cuuuute. And that's good you are resigning, on to the next adventure! I'm kind of depressed lately too, I just moved to a new au pair family for the month and I'm working upwards of 55 hours a week for hardly any pay... pretty sure I'm getting screwed. oh well.

    The triple collar is adorable! I work in retail right now at Old Navy and a flower shop (which I willbe turning in my notice there this week hopefully.) It is my dream/goal to be a successful fashion designer though. Good luck finding a new company! Everything will work out! :)

    I love those shoes! I've been eyeballin' them for a while now. Sorry to hear about your job. I work in the fashion industry, too, and every assistant buyer I have worked with is always running around ragged, overworked and under-appreciated. It's a tough job, for sure. Hopefully you will find something that you enjoy a bit more!

    Good luck with your job search! I used to work full-time as an in-house copywriter for an e-commerce site that sold women's clothing. The company went out of business in December, and I've been unemployed/freelancing ever since. Like you, I want to continue working in the fashion industry but at the right company. It's so important to be in an organization that's, well, organized and has good coworkers.
