Romi Ya from Romi Ya Fashion Inspiration Blog
Find Romi's cute accessories from Shop with Romi
Here is an interview with Romi Ya, a quirky fashion blogger who I used to work with when I was working as a Fashion assistant buyer (Romi was in marketing) and she is a dear freind of mine!
1) Can you tell us a little about yourself and your blog?
My name is Romi and I'm an assistant stylist/ blogger of Romiya Fashion Inspiration blog. My blog kinda started when I found it as a great platform to collect inspirations. I've been doing it for years for myself but I'm ecstatic by the fact that my blog is building an audience now who I can share my experiences with. This really moves me! My blog seem to take different form (unconscionably) over time but I believe that reflects me. I can be very indecisive and temperamental.(giggle) My blog generally revolves around street style, beautiful photography/ photographer, galleries, art, artists, models and people I think who are uber-cool and crazy.
2) How you first got involved in with blogging?
I'm attracted to everything that's visually pleasing. I started blogging to collect images that transcend me.
3) Name some of the bloggers whom you look up to and why?
There are too many but to name a few, Park & Cube for her unreal photography, Ergy Erg for her unreal craziness and sense of style, Outsapop Trashion for her unreal findings. My bubble's pretty surreal.
4) Tell us about any future projects you have for your blog?
I recently opened my own online store! I'm pretty excited. I'm very into punk and harajuku style at the moment and hope to cater that sensibility through my pieces. I mainly source from South Korea for quality, Japan and some from UK. This online store idea came from my experience assisting stylists for the past 2 years. When I was sourcing outfits for shoots, I found there are so many BEEAAAUTIFUL garments and jewellery in Australia but not many little accessories that will give that extra zing to an outfit. So I decided to import them myself! At the moment, I have some crazy socks that you can match with boots, creepers, brogues or heels, beaded collars and some harajuku inspired headbands/ headscarves. I think I have a good range to cover from Alexa Chung's sweet vintage to Pixie Geldof's punk with more arriving in the next couple of weeks! I'm also looking at vintage items and reforming few myself, including my preloved designer pieces, I really need to clear out my wardrobe. I want to keep everything pretty unique so be quick as I only stock in small quantities!
Thank you Romi for such an excellent interview!
xx Natalie
