The Vivid Festival Sydney 2013 (photos taken by me on my Nikon D60 w/ Sigma 50mm f 1.4 lens) Youtube video by Hughie Nguyen
I love it when Sydney shows off. And the Vivid Festival Sydney is definitely the grandest showing-off events of all. Sydney's best artist, sculptors, engineers and designers come together to turn Sydney into a playground of interactive light sculptures. There are movies/huge projectors that dance along the iconic buildings of Customs House, Opera House and MCA and turn them into impressive light sculptures. Vivid Aquatique happens every hour on the hour at Cockle Bay and it's this amazing water and light feature.
The Festival is now extended through to North Sydney and Darling Harbour and includes 60 light displays/sculptures in which you can walk in sequence from one end of Sydney to the other. My highlight was the Opera House, and the new interactive way people can now change the lights of the Harbour Bridge - by heading to North Sydney to find the control centre which is open to the public. Vivid Sydney Festival is a free event and is running from 24th May to 10th June 6pm until Midnight and is definitely a must see.
How gorgeous. I'd love to go to that.
