Dinner at: Flying Fajita Sistas Mexican Kitchen at 65 Glebe Point Road, Glebe, Sydney, Australia 2037

Long overdue, but Happy Birthday to my boyfriend Hai! To celebrate, I had to take Hai's Mexican food experience to the next level so I chose the cosy Flying Fajita Sistas Mexican Kitchen in Glebe.

To start we ordered the cheesy Achiote Pulled Pork Nachos and Mixed Platter of Tacos. The Nachos came out topped with melted cheese and jalapenos on a bed of crisp corn chips. I loved digging my fingers into the bowl to find the chips and use it to scoop up abit of pork, cheese and jalapeno into my mouth. Yum.

Then the Tacos hit the table and my eyes lit up. We chose Crispy Pork Crackling and Grilled Fish toppings and there were no regrets. Sitting on a bed of soft corn tortilla, I sprinkled a little salt and greedily wrapped them up and took big bites. The Pork crackling had a nice crunch and the fish was accompanied well with the black beans and salsa.

For mains, I ordered the Chipolte Chicken Chimichunga and Hai ordered the Lemon & Herb Chicken Fajitas.
Now, I have never heard of a Chimichunga before, so I was surprised to see it on the menu. For those who do not know what a Chimichunga is, it is basically a fat deep fried buritto!
I was gobsmacked at the idea of it. I was even more gobsmacked by the sheer size of it. Mine came out balancing on top of the fresh greens and black beans and with guacamole all over it. When I cut into it, the chicken and cheese oozed out. It was pretty darn amazing.

Hai's main was a much healthier and prettier option - the Fajitas. It came out on a beautiful plate with vibrant colours. On it was chunky tomato salsa, sour cream, black beans and rice to accompany the juicy chicken. Hai happily wrapped his chicken in the soft tortilla and chowed down.

I had an really nice meal here at Flying Fajita Sistas. The food was delicious and full of flavour, the staff were friendly and making a reservation was easy. The restaurant filled up really quickly and was bustling with people. It is indeed a very popular place - I would recommend booking early.

Thank you for having us, Flying Fajita Sistas. My boyfriend and I had a wonderful time celebrating his 30th (just kidding!) birthday. Hai turned 29, which.. is pretty much the same as turning 30.
